Web player privacy
Last updated 9 June 2026 · listen.radiodad.app
The Radio Dad web player is built privacy-first, like the iOS app. There is no account, no advertising, and no cross-site tracking, and the only analytics is Cloudflare's cookieless Web Analytics (page counts; no cookies, no personal data). Nothing about your listening is profiled or sold.
What the player contacts, and why
To work without a backend of our own, the player talks directly to a few well-known services. We don't add any identifier to these requests, but — as with any website — the service you contact can see your IP address.
| Service | Why |
|---|---|
| Radio Browser | The free, community-run directory we use to find stations, countries, genres and stream URLs. |
| The broadcaster's stream | When you press play, audio streams directly from the radio station to your browser. We never route or record it. |
| CARTO + OpenStreetMap | Map tiles that draw the globe. |
| OSRM | Only when you use Road Trip: it computes the driving route between the two places you pick. |
| Cloudflare Web Analytics | Counts page views so we can improve the player: cookieless, no personal data, no cross-site tracking. |
| Station logos | If a station provides a logo, your browser loads it from that station's own server (https only). |
What we never do
- No cookies, no local tracking identifiers, no fingerprinting.
- No advertising or crash-reporting SDKs, and no cross-site or per-user tracking.
- No account, sign-in, or personal data collection.
- We don't sell or share data — there isn't any to sell.
Location
“Near me” asks your browser for your approximate location only after you tap it and grant the browser's permission prompt. It's used once, in your browser, to find nearby stations — it is never sent to us or stored.
